Thierry Dubois is a freelance writer specializing in helicopters, business aviation and aerospace technology. He earned a degree in fluid dynamics from an engineering school in Toulouse, France in the mid-1990s. At an unexpected crossroads, he found his first job in journalism. In 1997, he started working for French aerospace weekly Air &amp; Cosmos in Paris. This lasted until 2000, when he moved south to Lyons. He then became a freelancer, working for various aerospace publications and has been part of the AIN team since late 2000. In addition to writing about business aviation, Thierry shares responsibility for the rotorcraft section. He also is a regular on-site writer for AIN’s daily editions at international airshows such as the Paris, Farnborough, Dubai and Singapore shows, as well as at EBACE in Geneva.
In 2007, he won the Honeywell award for “Best systems or technology submission” at the Aerospace journalist of the year awards. In 2013, he won an Aerospace Media Award for the "Best Safety, Training &amp; Simulation Submission."
In other activities, Thierry moderates international conferences on aviation technology topics. Thierry is married and has three children, who seem to begin enjoying the mountains–as their parents do.

German airline Lufthansa has ordered two Cessna Citation CJ3s and two Citation XLS+s for its Private Jet service, which offers connections and point-to-point travel to first-class passengers in Europe. With regional jet conversions and reallocation of previously ordered aircraft, this will bring to nine the total number of aircraft available for Lufthansa Private Jet.
The new fleet will include three Citation CJ1+s, which were part of an earlier order for training purposes. The first aircraft–a CJ3–was scheduled to be delivered last month, with the rest expected to arrive by December.
According to a Lufthansa spokesman, the airline’s brand name and the fact it will be the first commercial operator of the XLS+ in Europe have helped Cessna find delivery slots this year, despite a big backlog.
Finally, Lufthansa will convert two of its Bombardier CRJ200s to business jets that will look like Challenger 850s. The cabins, configured with four to 12 seats, will feature the same materials and colors as the first-class sections of the company’s airliners.
The firm will continue to outsource some flights to DC Aviation, the Stuttgart-based executive charter operator that has replaced NetJets Europe since the fractional ownership company terminated its contract with Lufthansa last year.
