Kerry Lynch stepped into the role of editor of the&nbsp;Aviation International News&nbsp;monthly magazine in May 2022 after serving with&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;for eight years. She joined&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;in December 2014 as a senior editor covering Washington and business aviation news. She has also served on Convention News teams, including as editor of&nbsp;HAI Convention News. Lynch previously spent 25 years with Aviation Week. During her time there, she reported for and later steered&nbsp;The Weekly of Business Aviation, oversaw business aviation content on the&nbsp;Aviation Week Intelligence Network, served on the&nbsp;Show News&nbsp;staff, and held roles as the Washington columnist for&nbsp;Business &amp; Commercial Aviation&nbsp;and&nbsp;Overhaul &amp; Maintenance&nbsp;monthly magazines. In 2021 she was honored with the National Business Aviation Association Platinum Wing Award for lifetime achievement in journalism and was the 2004 recipient of the National Air Transportation Association’s Aviation Journalism Excellence Award. She also has been a recipient of an Aerospace Media Award for business aviation (2022) and NBAA Gold Wing Award (2003, 2024). Lynch graduated from The Ohio State University with a bachelor of arts in journalism.

NBAA’s 2025 Tax, Regulatory, and Risk Management Conference will bring together leading experts to address this year’s major tax policy changes on the federal level, as well as activities at the state level.&nbsp;To be held on October 12 and 13 in Las Vegas just ahead of NBAA-BACE, the conference will serve as a forum on issues such as impact of tariffs on cross-border transactions and maintenance operations, as well as on the renewal of bonus depreciation that was adopted in July as part of the&nbsp;<a href="https://www.congress.gov/bill/119th-congress/house-bill/1/text">budget reconciliation package</a>.
“With so many moving pieces in the tax policy and regulatory landscape, this year’s conference is more essential than ever,” said NBAA general counsel and corporate secretary Benjamin Schwalen. “We’re seeing a return to 100% immediate expensing, aggressive state-level audits, and tariffs being assessed on aircraft transactions for the first time in decades.”
Plans call for sessions on these topics, as well as ownership structures, non-business use, and federal excise tax compliance. Participants will also discuss ramifications of IRS workforce reductions on ongoing audits.
Also, with the passage of the budget reconciliation bill, NBAA has published a members-only guide providing expert analysis on how bonus depreciation applies to new and preowned aircraft. The law reinstates full and immediate expensing on aircraft acquired and placed in service from January 20.
