A new FBO has opened at Idaho’s Sandpoint Airport, a gateway to the state’s ski resorts. Construction on the $1.6 million facility began in June last year, when it was owned by Silverwing Flight Services. Andrew Berrey took over ownership of the unfinished location on January 1 and renamed it Granite Aviation. It features a 3,700-sq-ft private air terminal, 7,000-sq-ft hangar, four aircraft refueling trucks, de-icer truck and recently completed 171,000-sq-ft ramp. The Phillips 66-branded facility offers fueling, maintenance, storage and ground transportation. Other aerospace companies on the field include business jet winglet manufacturer Tamarack Aerospace, Quest Aircraft and Timberline Helicopters.
