Teague, Nike Partnering on Interior for Sports Teams
The ‘Athlete’s Plane’ is intended to reduce the toll air travel takes on traveling sports teams.

Seattle-based design and technology company Teague has partnered with sports equipment and marketing behemoth Nike to design an aircraft interior for what they call an “Athlete’s Plane,” aiming to even the odds for traveling sports teams. “When professional athletes travel across multiple time zones their team is statistically more likely to lose,” said Philip Steiner, Teague’s creative director. “The Athlete’s Plane essentially levels the playing field.” Teague noted that managers of soccer teams routinely complain about the toll air travel extracts on their players, and cites Brazilian teams that might fly 8,000 miles in five days when competing internationally.
