A lifelong aviation enthusiast who joined&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;in 2007, Curt came to&nbsp;the publication&nbsp;from the broadcast industry where he was a national science and technology television reporter and producer. He writes on the FBO field, aviation finance, and sustainable aviation and occasionally contributes to&nbsp;AIN&nbsp;sister publication&nbsp;Business Jet Traveler. Curt was a member of the AINtv reporting staff that won the 2008 Aerospace Journalist of the Year award for Best Airshow Daily. That same year, he was a finalist for another AJOYA award. He earned an AJOYA for Best Business Aviation Submission in 2018 and was a finalist in that category in 2021. He received the National Air Transportation Association’s&nbsp; Aviation Journalist Award in 2012 and won a Pegasus Sapphire Business Aviation Award for outstanding journalism in 2021.
Before joining AIN, Curt worked with&nbsp;Consumer Reports’ television division, CRTV, and for several local television news staffs. An honors graduate of the State University of New York at Stony Brook, he earned a master’s degree in broadcast journalism from Boston University in 1995. Curt lives in New York State with his wife and two young sons.

Houston-based Million Air has added the first Florida FBO to its network with the recent purchase of Avion Jet Center at Orlando Sanford International Airport. The service provider is set to embark on a $3.5 million renovation of the facility, with work starting on the 10,000-sq-ft hangar at the beginning of the year. The location also features a 7,000-sq-ft terminal, which will soon provide all the usual Million Air amenities, including a theater room and soda bar. 
The chain’s newly built $19 million facility at Calgary International Airport in Canada opened last month, with the first of its 40,000-sq-ft hangars to be dedicated to based customers. A second, transient aircraft hangar is slated for completion this month. The location, Million Air’s third in Canada, will serve as a gateway to the Great White North’s oil and gas region and includes a 7,500-sq-ft terminal.
The company’s new flagship FBO at Houston Hobby Airport is on track to open at the beginning of next year. The $15 million 21,000-sq-ft facility sits on a site covering more than 20-acres, the largest at the airport, and will have more than 15,000 sq ft devoted to customer use with features such as five conference rooms and commercial kitchens. The company also acquired another 60,000 sq ft of hangar space, giving it control of the entire west side of the airport. 
And with next year’s Super Bowl being held for the first time in the New York City area, the company will continue with its series of host-city parties on game day. Million Air White Plains at Westchester County Airport will offer a special private VIP lounge as well as a crew party and high-end NFL souvenir store in the hangar.
