MU-2 Stall Training Rules Conflict with New Technique

The MU-2 training curriculum outlined in SFAR 108 teaches limiting altitude loss during a stall rather than reducing angle of attack, as is now required. FAA action is required to update the twin turboprop’s training program.

When the FAA amended aircraft stall training last year to emphasize reducing angle of attack over the long-used procedure of limiting altitude loss above all else, training organizations across the U.S. were required to update their curriculums to reflect those changes.
