Porter Joins RAA

Toronto-based Porter Airlines has joined the Regional Airline Association (RAA), the Washington, D.C. lobbying and industry advocacy group announced last month. With Porter’s enrollment, the RAA now counts 29 airline members.

Operating 26 Bombardier Q400 turboprops, Porter flies year-round to 16 regional destinations in Canada and the U.S. and serves another three on a seasonal basis. The airline agreed to become the Canadian launch customer for the Bombardier CS100 when it signed a conditional order for 12 of the narrowbody airliners in April. It continues to lobby for permission to operate the airplanes at Toronto City Center Airport, where local ordinances prohibit the operation of jets.
