SR Technics Promises A New Concept In Biz Jet Interiors
SR Technics serve maintenance with a Swiss-quality twist.

On time, on spec, on budget is the motto of Zurich-based SR Technics (Booth 943), according to Jean-Marc Lenz, senior v-p, aircraft services. The company, wholly-owned by Mubadala Aerospace in Abu Dhabi, may be gearing up for global expansion, but the core of SR Technics is Swiss and for the moment, that core is in Zurich, according to Lenz.

“Zurich is certainly one of the most expensive places on earth to have your aircraft maintenance and modifications done, whether you are one of our airline or one of our VIP customers,” said Lenz. “But there are customers who are absolutely dedicated to quality and understand that with complex equipment such as a widebody jet [and its] maintenance and modification or refurbishment there are many, many variables. We have a reputation among our customers of handling those projects in a manner that brings these customers back to us again and again,” he said.

As far as new projects are concerned, Eric Jan, head of interior design for VIP aircraft services, hinted that he is working on a new product that will make people rethink the utility and comfort of the standard business jet interior. Jan was a key player in the refurbishment of Virgin Atlantic's new Upper Class, which was performed at SR Technics in Zurich.

“By EBACE 2014 we expect to unveil a business VIP interior that no one has seen before,” he said. “It is in response to so many of the questions we have received from our customers, and we believe it will make us stand out for being able to provide unique quality, functionality and comfort, and at an efficient price for a business aircraft,” he continued. “It is an entirely new solution for a business jet interior, and I'm not talking about materials or coverings. Watch for it,” he smiled.
