Elliott Aviation has completed installation or secured signed contracts to perform installation of the Garmin G1000 in a total of 50 King Airs of various models.
The Moline, Ill.-based company had the first customer-owned Super King Air 350 to receive a Garmin G1000 integrated avionics suite package on display at the NBAA Convention last month. The aircraft flew to the convention on an experimental certificate. <a href="http://www.ainonline.com/?q=aviation-news/aviation-international-news/2010-10-27/garmin-bringing-g1000-king-air-300350">Garmin expected to receive FAA certification of the G1000 in the Super King Air 300/350 in October</a>.
The G1000 features dual 10-inch, high-definition LCD primary flight displays, a 15-inch multifunction display, fully integrated flight guidance system, IFR-approved Waas GPS, weather radar and VHF navigation and communication receivers. Electronic charts, XM weather, and the engine instruments and crew alerting system (EICAS) are integrated into the G1000 displays. Elliott also offers G1000 installations featuring Garmin’s synthetic vision.
