Era Helicopters celebrated the first U.S. delivery by Eurocopter (Booth No. 631) of
its EC 225 heavy twin yesterday as Era CEO Edward Washecka (right) accepted the keys from Eurocopter president and CEO Lutz Bertling in a champagne ceremony. The Lake Charles, La.-based gas and oil helicopter support provider will accept three more EC 225s this year, two more next year and another two in 2010. Era plans to introduce the EC 225 into the Gulf of Mexico as growing demand for oil and gas pushes exploration efforts further offshore.
