<p>The only survivor of an August 10 sightseeing helicopter crash at the Grand Canyon has filed suit against Papillon Grand Canyon Helicopters of Grand Canyon, Ariz., its four principals and a mechanic, as well as American Eurocopter (maker of the AS 350B2 helicopter), Turbomeca Engine Corp. and Zuni LLC, a Washington-based helicopter retailer. Plaintiff and sole survivor Chana Daskal, a 25-year-old mother of two, suffered burns over 80 percent of her body and is still in the University Medical Center in Las Vegas. Killed in the crash were pilot Kevin Innocenti, Daskal’s husband David, Avi and Barbara Wajsbaum, Aryeh Zvi Fastag and Shiya Lichtenstein. The helicopter was on a sightseeing flight near Arizona’s Grand Wash Cliffs, some 60 mi east of Las Vegas, when it crashed. Daskal’s suit chiefly alleges faulty maintenance and design, as well as pilot error. A preliminary NTSB report indicates engine failure.</p>
