Crane Aerospace &amp; Electronics (Hall 4 Stand G20) has been selected to supply power conditioning modules for the Boeing 787 airliner as part of the common core system (CCS) being developed by Smiths Aerospace. The modules (four on each aircraft) provide isolation, conditioning and regulation of the power system for the CCS, which is an integrated avionics system that centralizes computer functions for the aircraft.

U.S.-based Crane also provides modules and batteries for the new 787’s flight control electronics system, as well as the brake control and monitoring system for the new widebody’s landing gear and lube and scavenger pumps for its engines.

Separately, Diehl Avionik Systeme has chosen Crane to provide proximity-sensing equipment for the Airbus A380 freighter door system. The package, which consists of proximity sensors, sensor targets and associated electronics, will monitor the position of the doors. The firm also provides proximity-sensing equipment for doors, landing gear and thrust reversers for passenger versions of the A380.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
