Wulfsberg’s Prescott, Ariz. aircraft radio operation is making the first public display of its newly FAA-certified FliteLine navcom radio suite at Heli-Expo 2006. Consisting of next-generation remotely mounted VHF nav, com, transponder, DME and ADF line replaceable units (LRUs) and previously certified radio control display units (CDU), the complete package is on view at Wulfsberg’s Heli-Expo Booth No. 2321.
The full-color liquid crystal display (LCD) control heads join new, smaller LRUs in a package that includes up to six CDUs in a dual com, dual nav, ADF and transponder installation. The new FliteLine control heads occupy one-third less panel space than previous similar installations. Designed for direct replacement of Bendix, AlliedSignal and Chelton Series III control heads, the FliteLine CDUs also support the Collins-Gables “two out of five” interface.
The remote LRUs feature reduced size and weight. Com and nav boxes are 2.4 inches wide, and the DME receiver is 3.27 inches wide. VHF com radios will be available with either 8.33- or 25-kHz spacing across the 118- to 152-MHz band. The system includes both Arinc 429 digital and conventional analog interfaces to support either new or retrofit applications.
